To secure increased funding and resources for private specialist pathology practices
To promote cultural change in the health environment by influencing attitudes towards the pathology profession through emphasising the specialist consultancy nature of pathology services
To promote the ongoing contributions of pathologists and how their diagnostic testing and advice shapes New Zealand health outcomes
To promote the need for funder-provider split where referrers are also offering near patient testing
To advocate a level playing field in the pathology market through appropriate levels of integrated services, purchaser/provider splits and contestability taking regional considerations into account.
